SLL Volunteer Roles
We welcome all volunteers who are truly committed to help. Please volunteer for one of the listed volunteer positions only if you are prepared to fill the role:
Groundskeeper: Work with other volunteers to help prepare and maintain fields leading up to and during the season.
Manager: Manage a team of ballplayers. This is the leader of the team and not for those who only want to help as a coach. We welcome assisting coaches and you will be able to note your willingness to be an assistant coach during the process of registering your ballplayer.
Board Member: Oversee and administer a division or aspect of SLL activity with 50+ other board members. This is a great way to become more deeply involved in the SLL. You need to be willing to attend monthly board meetings.
Baseball or Softball Umpire: Get close to the action! Learn the rules, call them like you see them, and teach the kids along the way. This is a crucial volunteer role that can be very rewarding. Umpire volunteers must commit to umpiring at least six games.
